Affordable Health Initiative CIO (AHI) was successfully registered as a UK Charity Incorporation Organisation in June 2019.

 

 

The acceptance of the Affordable Health initiative (AHi) Health Promoting School (HPS) model has been fenomenal, it has been praised by a range of academics, stakeholders and providers, and it was considered appropriate to be implemented in low-income communities.


 

Acceptability

The acceptability of the Affordable Health Initiative (AHI) Health Promotion School (HPS) model among stakeholders and providers was agreeable. The Department of Health (DoH) and the Department of Education (DoE) of Distrito Federal agreed with the implementation of the AHI HPS model and showed great enthusiasm in supporting the initiative. The headteachers of the three schools serving Estrutural enthusiastically agreed to support the implementation of the AHI HPS model in their schools.

Adoption

The adoption of the Affordable Health Initiative (AHI) Health Promotion School (HPS) model among stakeholders and providers was fenomenal. All showed strong interest to support and contribute to the implementation of the AHI HPS model. The Department of Health took the decision to allocated five health professionals for 6 months to run the AHI HPS health care activities, and the Department of Education took the decision to allow school educators to use their time to deliver the educational and the health promotion activities included in the AHI HPS model.

Appropriateness

The Affordable Health Initiative (AHI) Health Promotion School (HPS) model was suitable and relevant to be implemented in school settings in the Estrutural low-income community as perceived by providers and consumers in Brasilia, Brasil. The initiative will be implemented initially in these three schools and may be implemented in a larger scale following the assessment of the impact of the AHI HPS model in Estrutural.
